Book Spotlight and Blogoversary Giveaway #1! If We Kiss and Kiss Me Again by Rachel Vail

It's started!!!!!! Woot Woot for Blogoversary Giveaways!!!!

If you're like me, you are always looking for a new contemporary romance to read.  I'm a huge fan of light-hearted romances--the ones that make you ohhh and awww all the way through, and then wish that you were living in fairy tale land.  Those are the ones I love--not the heavy ones that center around death and abuse.  So, today I thought I'd share (and give away) a copy of two great contemporary romances, IF WE KISS and KISS ME AGAIN by Rachel Vail.

Be sure to enter the Rafflecopter at the bottom!

What would happen if we kiss?

Kevin led me quickly around the side of the building, then stopped. I managed not to crash into him. I tried to look calm, cool, unperturbed. I told myself not to laugh, especially not a snorting kind of laugh. "Wha . . . what did . . ."

And then he kissed me.

If We Kiss is the story of Charlotte (Charlie to her friends), who finds herself falling for a boy who is off-limits. Her best friend is in love with him, and her mother and his father are dating. Still, Charlie can't help but wonder, what would happen if we kiss?

He closed the distance I'd opened up between us and kissed me lightly on the lips. "Maybe we can just be," Kevin whispered.

Charlie Collins doesn't know what to do about Kevin Lazarus, her crush and, awkwardly, her new stepbrother. Things were complicated enough when their parents were only dating and when Kevin was going out with Charlie's best friend, Tess. Now, post-wedding, Charlie and Kevin are crossing paths and crossing lines, and then they have to eat breakfast . . . together.

If only Charlie could get some time away from Kevin and her annoyingly happy and strange stepfamily, she might be able to deal. Yet first she has to make things right with George, her sort-of boyfriend, and Tess, whose trust she broke. But while Charlie struggles to be the perfect friend and daughter, at the end of the day Kevin is the one waiting for her at home. Would it really be so bad if they kissed again?

The follow-up to If We Kiss, Rachel Vail's addictive story of first kisses and heartbreak, Kiss Me Again at long last answers the question of what happens when a crush so off-limits it has to be a fantasy suddenly becomes something very real.

Book Spotlight: Kiss Crush Collide by Christina Meredith

So....I just recently received a finished copy of Kiss Crush Collide by Christina Meredith from HarperTeen, and since its already been reviewed on our blog, I decided just to do a quick spotlight on it.  I haven't started reading it yet, but it will be up soon on my TBR.  After all, I'm always needing a quick, romantic read to hoist me from my paranormal/dystopian obsession.

The reviews I've read of this one are all over the place, but Sarah, our honorary sister, reviewed and loved it!  You can read her review here

Kiss
What Leah did—only she really shouldn’t have—one hot night at a country club party.

Crush
What Leah has—only she really shouldn’t have—on the guy with the green eyes, the guy who is not her perfect boyfriend, the guy who does not fit in her picture-perfect life, the guy her sisters will only mock and her mother will never approve of. Not in a million years.

Collide
What happens when everything you always thought you wanted—having cool friends, being class valedictorian and homecoming queen—runs smack into everything it turns out you really do want.

Kiss. Crush. Collide.
For Leah and Porter, summer is only the beginning.

So, this one sounds like it would be a great weekend read!  If you've read it, please let me know what you thought!!!!

Spotlight and Mini Reviews: Blood Red Road and Rebel Heart by Moira Young

Hey guys!!!  I have heard so many great things about the Blood Red Road series by Moira Young, mainly from my little sis, Britt, and my mother.  So, I've decided to pass along my mother's praise for both books!!!!

Thank you Mom for helping out with the blog!!!!  We love you!!!!

Blood Red Road by Moira Young

Rough, Loyal, Admirable, Demanding, and Daring....oh, yeah, I'll left out the most important: stubborn--That's Saba!  And I could have added about 20 more adjectives to describe this unique character, created by Moira Young.  She's like the person we all desire to be--until she crosses the line--then we all just wish we could be her as long as no one knew our true name!  She'll take on anything (hellwurms, the cage, and a barren-cracked world) or anyone (a maniacal King, Tontons, and her heart's desire). When she, with the help of her younger sister, Emmi; her heart's desire, Jack; and the Hawks, an all girls warrior tribe; takes on the world to rescue her twin brother Lugh, you'll grip the book cover much as you would the handlebars of a bike going down a 90 degree slope, only to find that you are on a skateboard instead of a bicycle with nothing to hold! Get ready for a wild ride!

Rebel Heart by Moira Young

"You can't kill all the badness in the world. You cut it down in front of you only to find that it's standing right behind you."

Saba, a fearless eighteen-year-old warrior, trying to save a futuristic world "wrecked" beyond repair, captured our hearts in Blood Red Road--now she wrenches them in Rebel Heart!  Both the reader and Saba long for the return of Jack, her heart's desire, or so says the heart stone.  And finding him takes us on an adventure more nerve racking than a derailed runaway train.  We laugh through our tears, as this proud, stubborn rebel takes on the role of the Pied Piper--drawing others to her while trying to dissuade them from the danger.  In this second book, she and her followers are drawn into the very heart of the Revolution only to find that Jack has joined the Tontons--and her heart and ours might not survive as we hungrily await the third book!
