Top Ten Tuesday: Books You Wish Could Have Had A Sequel

Top Ten Tuesday is an original meme hosted and created by The Broke and the Bookish

This Week:  The Top Ten Books You Wish Could Have Had Sequels

1.) The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long

I just loved the fairy tale world that lies parallel to our own!!!

2.) Poison by Bridget Zinn

This was such a great read, and I am not usually a high fantasy fan.  Sadly, Bridget passed away before she could write the sequel.

3.) Revel by Maurissa Guibord

Loved the secluded island and the greek gods!

4.) Valkyrie Rising by Ingrid Paulsen

I really loved the Norse mythology in this one, and even more, I loved the romance.  If a sequel were to appear one day, I would rejoice!

5.) Such A Rush by Jennifer Echols

This is one of my favorite contemporary reads, and it would be great to catch up with Leah and Grayson again.

6.) Taste by Kate Evangelista

I'm pretty sure there are going to be some spin-offs of this one, but I want more Dimitri!!!!  An entire book of just Dimitri!

7.) The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Just because it was so good!!!!

And I know there must be other great stand alones out there, but I have not read many of them yet.  So, I'm looking to your lists to find some great reads!

Top Ten Tuesday: Beginnings/Endings In A Book

Top Ten Tuesday is an original meme hosted and created by The Broke and the Bookish

This Week:  The Top Endings or Beginnings in Books (in no particular order)

1.) Okay, so a play not a book, but still amazing beginning.  The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams

"Yes, I have things in my pockets.  I have tricks up my sleeves.  But I am the opposite of a Stage Magician.  He gives you illusion that has the appearance of truth.  I give you truth in the pleasant disguise of illusion."  (Tom, Act 1, Scene 1)

Just love this quote!!!!

2.) Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

I just laughed my butt off when Emma runs into Galen and talks about assaulting his pecks.  I even went back and re-read the chapter because it was so hilarious.

3.) Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I loved meeting Alex and Aiden for the first time.  It makes it all the better that he tackles her and then uses compulsion to put her to sleep, especially when she wakes up leaning on his shoulder and he hasn't pushed her away.  So swoony!

4.) Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone  by JK Rowling

Um...need I explain?  Owls everywhere and people in robes muttering about Muggles!  This was the beginning of my love of books....

5.) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by JK Rowling

Snape screaming at Harry, "I am NOT a coward!"  I knew at that moment that he was a good guy and Dumbledore had asked him to kill him.  Snape is my man through and through.

6.) Poison Princess by Kresley Cole

I LOVED this book so hard!!!  And I won't be too spoilery, but lets just say she finally comes into her own at the very end of the book, so watch out because "[she's] on the hunt."

7.) Entice by Jessica Shirvington

I just love when Phoenix sends Violet the letter that says, "Care for a trade, lover?"  He's such a jerk, but I LOVE HIM!!!!  Plus, it just sets up a great beginning for the next book.

8.)  Everbound by Brodi Ashton

I can't say anything because MAJOR SPOILER, but let's just say that Cole, that sneaky little hottie, surprised the heck out of me.  Such a great ending, and I am dying for book 3.

9.) Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

Again, no spoilers, but let's just say, I'm ready for Juliette to show the world what she can do!!!

10.) Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

I love how we meet Perry in all his masculinity straight off.  He rushes into the fire and saves Aria, and I just love him for it.  Plus, the world building was amazing from the first sentence!

Top Ten Tuesday: Books When You Need Something Light and Fun

Top Ten Tuesday is an original meme hosted and created by The Broke and the Bookish

This Week:  The Top Books When You Need Something Light and Fun (In No Particular Order)

1.) Anna and the French Kiss

I am a huge fan of Stephanie Perkins.  Light, romantic contemporaries are always great when I'm looking to relax.

2.) Lola and The Boy Next Door

Of course, I had to mention Stephanie's other light-hearted romance!

3.) Poison by Bridget Zinn

This was such a surprise to me.  I'm not usually a fantasy fan, but I loved the world in this one.  Plus, the main characters have such a sweet and humorous relationship that I just had so much fun reading it.

4.) The Nightmare Affair by Mindee Arnett

I really loved this one.  It was reminiscent of Harry Potter to me because you have a small group of students determined to find the dark wizard who threatens their world.  Add in some hilarious scenes and cute romance, and this is a great light-hearted read.  (Now, there are some dark moments, too!  So be warned)

5.) Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

This book literally made me laugh out loud so many times.  The main character is hilarious, and definitely has a way with words.

******Wow guys....I'm having a hard time with "light and fun!"  Most of the books I read are more intense because I like the paranormal and dystopian genres which lend themselves to darkness.

Sadly, that's all I can seem to come up with that fits my definition of "light and fun."  I'm more a fan of dystopians like Defiance, Divergent, Poison Princess, etc. where there is death, danger, disease, etc. that runs rampant; or paranormals like Anna Dressed In Blood, Splintered, or the Covenant Series which also pretty much runs the gammut on all things dark.  I'm sure I'll see some I should have put on there after looking at everyone else's lists!

Top Ten Tuesday: Words/Topics That Instantly Make Me Buy A Book

Top Ten Tuesday is an original meme hosted and created by The Broke and the Bookish

This Week:  The Top Words/Topics That Instantly Make Me Buy A Book

1.) Mythology

I am a huge fan of mythology, whether it be Greek, Norse, Egyptian, etc.  There is just so much to do with all the different gods and creatures.

2.) Bad Boy

Oh, how I love me some bad boy.  I love the broody, dark, mysterious, angry guy--I can't get enough of this character.

3.) Macabre

I love when ya books take a turn to the gothic and macabre.  There just aren't enough dark ya books out there!

4.) Horror

This is something that I have recently started loving.  Normally, I am a fraidy-cat, and I don't go near anything that might scare me.  But, since Anna Dressed in Blood, I am always on the look out for the next ya horror book.

5.) Retelling

I am a huge fan of retellings, like the Persephone/Hades myth, or Edgar Allan Poe stories, or fairy tles.  I love when authors modernize these old stories.

6.) Spies

I've just recently started loving spy books, and there are so many older series that I need to catch up on that focus on spies!

7.) Different paranormal creature

Okay, so those aren't the exact words, but if I find a book that focuses on a new paranormal creature, or one that isn't done much, then I jump for it.

8.) Other worlds

I love when settings are something other than our reality.  New worlds, alternate realities, outer space--I find all these settings intriguing.

9.) Dystopian with a flare of paranormal

I'm a huge fan of paranormal romance books, but I get tired of the same old, same old.  So, when an author adds the element of a dystopian society to the paranormal, then it's definitely a book I am going to try out.

10.) Light-hearted contemporary romance

I am not a fan of the contemporary novels that focus on tough issues such as suicide, abuse, rape, etc.  But, I do love the light-hearted, feel-good romances like the ones Stephanie Perkins writes.  If a book is the cheerful, summery type of read; then it's one that will definitely end up in my collection.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books You Read Before You Became a Blogger

Top Ten Tuesday is an original meme hosted and created by The Broke and the Bookish

This Week:  The Top 10 Books I Read Before I Became A Blogger!

Okay, this one is kind of hard because most of the books I have really loved were read when I started blogging.  I read at least 10 times more books a year now than I did before I blogged.  But, there are still some very memorable ones in what I'm going to coin as "the before times."

1.) Harry Potter (all 7)

There are no words needed here.  Harry Potter = My Childhood

2.) City of Bones (first 3)

I just love this series.  Jace and Clary swept me away, and this was definitely one of my favorite "before times" books.  It's still one of my all-time faves.

3.) Clockwork Angel/Prince

Another one of Cassandra's books that just stole my heart.  She knows how to write a broken, rebellious guy, and gosh darnit, I love her for it!

4.) Divergent

I read this about a month before I started blogging, and I have to say, I think its the book that pulled me in.  I loved all the action and the crumbling world, along with Four.  Oh Four.

5.) Shatter Me

I read this one right before I started blogging, too, and it's another one that really pushed me into this world.  I love it so hard, and it remains one of my favorites to this day.  I am dying for the third book!

6.) Hunger Games

Okay, this one should have come further up, but I forgot about it until now--and I don't want to go change all my numbers.  This was one of the first ya dystopians books I read, and I was hooked!  I read this one and Catching Fire both in 2 days!

7.) Die For Me

I loved the idea of the Revenants, and Jules and Vincent both just made me laugh and swoon.  I'm so sad to see this series ending!

8.) Angels and Demons

Okay, this one isn't YA like I normally read, but I remember loving all the twists and codes in it.  I could never figure out what was going to happen next, and as far as adult suspense goes, this is one of my faves.

9.) My Sister's Keeper

I'm normally not a fan of books that just make you break down and cry, but one of my favorite college professors insisted I read this one.  It was so heart-breaking, yet it left a lasting impression on my heart.

10.) Twilight

Okay, I put this one on there because it was one of the first paranormal books that I read (I probably only read 1 book every 2-3 months pre-blogging), and I really did love it at the time.  Now that I have so many others to compare it to, it doesn't make my favorites list.  But at the time, I loved it.

That's it!!!  Leave me a link to your list or TT!!

Top Ten Reasons We Love Divergent!

THE YA SISTERHOOD’S TOP TEN THINGS WE LOVE ABOUT DIVERGENT BY VERONICA ROTH!

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

We, at the YA Sisterhood, do solemnly swear that we love all things Divergent. So much, in fact, that we couldn’t decide who was going to get to write the review!

So instead, we’ve decided to bring you our favorite things about the book in top ten form. Believe me, there are so many other wonderful things about this book (yes, it’s that good)! We’ll try to be vague enough to not be spoilery! So here goes:

10. The Setting- Divergent is set in a dystopian future Chicago. I loved that we got to see a major U.S. city besides NYC represented in the Dystopian genre. Not that I don’t love the Big Apple, it was just great to see something new!

9. Dauntless Headquarters- Dauntless is one of Five Factions in the world of Divergent that represents the citizens who are brave, and believe that courage is the most important attribute in a person. And of course, their living space can’t just be a  normal apartment building—no that’s too boring! It has to be an epic, dangerous compound that you have to be willing to jump off moving trains and fall off buildings to get into. And even every day living is dangerous when there's a 200 ft. chasm in the middle of your home. Yeah, that’s how we do it in Dauntless. :)

8. Will and Christina—These two are some of Tris’s friends, fellow Dauntless recruits. They have just the right amount of humor, sarcasm, and severity with just a dash of romance. Love them.

7. The simulations—one of the ways that they test the Dauntless recruits is through simulations. But don’t think that just because they’re technically not real, they aren’t dangerous. These simulations were as exciting and hardcore as it gets!

6. The Tattoos—the Dauntless have this thing for tats, as in, they love them. One of the first ways that Tris proves she wants to be in Dauntless is by getting some wicked tattoos. I loved that the tattoos started as Tris daring herself to see if she could handle the pain, but they became so much more than that. She didn’t mark herself to prove a point, she marked herself to keep from forgetting the point to all of it. Veronica Roth may be single handedly responsible for a spike in the number inked YA fans (I know I want one)!

5. Veronica Roth—by all rights, Veronica should be number one on our list since she created everything else on this list, but we wanted to take a second and applaud her for her willingness to make bold choices. She knew that in real life, people don’t have safety nets. In real life, people get hurt, even main characters, and she wasn’t afraid to test her characters emotionally and physically. Bravo! And since we at the Sisterhood were lucky enough to meet Veronica Roth not long ago at a signing, we can personally attest that she's just as awesome and witty in person as her books!

4. Tris’s Mom—All mom’s are cool! But this one has a little extra oomph! Don’t want to spoil anything here, but let’s just say that Tris’s mom is more than meets the eye!

3. The Factions—Like I said, the community is divided into five factions, each defined by a different attribute: Dauntless (Brave), Abnegation (Selflessness), Erudite (Intelligence), Candor (Honesty), and Amity (Peacefulness). These were like the Hogwarts Houses, but amped up to full volume. I believe my first thought was, Dauntless is like Gryffindor on crack!

2. Tris—Oh, Tris. I loved her character—as both Beatrice and Tris. I loved how strong she was, how determined she was to prove her worth. I even loved her faults—her impatience and lack of compassion. She was a fully developed, wonderfully complex character whose story was simply captivating!

1. Four—Oh, man. Here’s the biggie. Four is Tris’s love interest. He’s also her instructor for her Dauntless initiation. He’s the ultimate mystery! As her instructor, he has to put her through grueling, dangerous, painful tasks, but there’s clearly a connection between them, and he hates to see her hurt. He’s strong and dark and closed off—which makes him all the more intriguing when he starts to open up. Easily my favorite YA boy in a long time (possibly ever)! Look out, Jace Wayland, you may have to make some room up on that pedestal.

And in case you haven't heard, Book Two is going to be called INSURGENT! Squee! So excited! It's perfect. We're already brainstorming possible titles for the third book that ends in "gent". Somehow we don't think it will be Detergent, Pungent, or Astringent.

Well, that’s it folks. Our Divergent top ten. If you’re not already following us, please do! Because when we reach 100 followers, we’re planning to give away a SIGNED copy of Divergent! Trust me, you won’t want to miss this!

P.S. Here's a picture of us with Veronica Roth and Tara Hudson (Hereafter)

Top Ten Tuesday: Top 10 Favorite Book Settings

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish.

10. China- North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley: I’ve never really been that interested in vacationing or living in Asia (I’m more of a Western Europe or Mediterranean kind of girl), but after reading North of Beautiful (which is a fantastic book, btw), I was dying to visit China!

9. Nantucket- Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini: The gorgeous (and very very rich) island made a wonderful place to see a modern day Greek tragedy/love story. The story will quite literally take you flying over the beaches, cliffs, and waves. Also… it’s got a cool name. NAN-TUCK-ET! J

8. Deep South- Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl: As Texas natives, we have a special love for the south, but the Deep South makes for a lush, historical, tragic, and simply to die for setting! There’s been several great books recently that have taken us to the deep south (like Rachel Hawkins’s Hex Hall ), but the darkly gorgeous Beautiful Creatures/Beautiful Darkness takes it in our opinion!

7.  Boston (and the Northeast)- Deception by Lee Nichols: Boston and the rest of the northeast (I’m a Philly-girl, myself) make for beautiful, historic settings no matter the story. But imagining all of the ghosts that would make such historic places their home creates an even more fascinating (and creepy) place for a story to unfold.

6. The Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women (Virginia)- Gallagher Girls Series by Ally Carter. Again, we love the south! So small town Virginia is lots of fun to read about. But do you know what’s more fun? SPIES. Especially, a top secret school for teenage girl spies! It doesn’t get much better than that!
5. Austin, TX – Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith: Like I said, we’re Texas girls, so we couldn’t leave out our capital city. Austin is known for being trendy (and a wee bit weird), but the weird soars to new heights in Tantalize where vampires are real (and have restaurants themed after them). Keep Austin Weird! J

4. Nevernever- The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa: The world of fairy was a given for this list, considering that many humans were so enraptured by it’s beauty that they never left (not that they always had that much of a choice). And several faerie books have beautifully depicted the world of fairie (The Wicked Lovely series by Melissa Marr, for example), but the most imaginative goes to Julie Kagawa in our opinion—where Summer, Winter, and Iron meet to form a deadly and beautiful place.

3.  New York City- The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare: Who doesn’t love New York City? But do you know what we love even more than the Big Apple? Downworlder/Shadowhunter NYC! J Vampires, Werewolves, Demons, JACE! New York City is quite the place! (Teehee… that rhymed).
2. Paris (Oh! La! La!) There are a number of recent books that have taken us to the City of Love and left us quite literally enamored! Die for Me by Amy Plum submerges the beautiful city into a war of epic proportions between two supernatural races (awesome!). Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins made me want to go back to school, just so that I could study abroad in Paris. And Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly made me fall in love with Paris’s past and the real Paris that isn’t overrun by tourist. I travelled to Paris a few years ago, but these books have me dying to go back!
1. Hogwarts- Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling: Do we really even need to elaborate? Every speech class I ever had where I got the question, “If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?” Easy. HOGWARTS. I would go there and never co me back.  (The Wizarding World makes a pretty good alternative, but I’m still holding out hope that Hogwarts is real. My letter just got lost in the mail… thirteen years ago).

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Minor Characters!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish.

1. The Weasley Twins- Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling-- Fred and George! Or is it Gred and Forge? From U-No-Poo to their epic firework exit-- we love the twins! Two of my most favorite characters ever. (I can hear them scoffing at being labeled minor! :) )

2. Luna Lovegood- Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling: Another Harry Potter favorite! We probably could have done a whole list of our favorite HP minor characters like we did with Mean Girls, but we decided it was time to share the love. Anyway-- Luna is odd, and awesome, and completely hardcore. I want to BE Luna Lovegood.

3. Rudy Steiner- The Book Thief by Markus Zusak: Oh Rudy! That Saukerl! How can I express how much I love Rudy Steiner? He painted himself black to be like Jesse Owens! He threw bread to Jews on their march to Dachau! And he loved the Book Thief heart and soul! To quote  from the book, " He does something to me, that boy. Every time. It's his only detriment. He steps on my heart. He makes me cry."

4. Finnick O'Dair- Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins: Oh Finnick! He deserves his own cheerleading squad. He's that awesome. He's gorgeous and cocky with a dark history. Plus, he's a wicked good swimmer. A more courageous, more handsome, more fictional Michael Phelps?

5. Nuts and Bolts- Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins: I loved this quirky duo! Nuts being, well, Nuts, and Bolts being made of supergeniusawesomeness made for an entertaining and heart wrenching minor character arc.

6. Jules- Die for Me by Amy Plum: You might have heard us rave about how much we love this recent release. But in case you haven't-- WE LOVE DIE FOR ME! GO BUY IT NOW! Part of what makes the book so good are the minor characters like our beloved Jules! He's handsome and witty (oh, the wit!) and an artist. What do you know... I think my heartbeat just sped up from only talking about him!

7. Magnus- The Mortal Instruments by Cassie Clare: There are so many things we could say about Magnus. He's odd. And we love our oddballs. He does magic. And boy do we like Magic. He's funny and mysterious and such a fascinating character! Loooooovvve him! :)

8. The Haldis Pack- Nightshade by Andrea Cremer: We might be cheating here by choosing a whole pack, but they are called a pack for a reason! It's a little difficult to distinguish just which character makes them so great! Neville is hysterical with his cheeky limericks. Mason sings. Ansel is the adorable little brother. They all come together to make for a fun, dangerous, heartfelt ride!

9. Tris's Mom- Divergent by Veronica Roth: We just finished reading this new release, and if you haven't read it, you should get your hands on it like yesterday! Perhaps my favorite book in a long, long time(But more to come on that later)! Tris's mom was this hardcore, tough, intelligent woman all hidden underneath a plain, selfless exterior! We love it when characters turn out to be so much more than they first appear!

10. Daneca-- The Curse Worker series by Holly Black: We were so glad to see more of Daneca in Red Glove, and after learning a secret about her in the new book, she's an even more fascinating character!

And now for some much loved Honorable Mentions:

Mr. Tasey- Paranormalcy by Kiersten White: (Not technically a person, but still awesome)

Gonzo and Balder- Going Bovine by Libba Bray: What's not to love about a hypochondriac dwarf and a talking lawn gnome that might be a Norse god?

James Atherton- Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins: Same biting wit as his daughter Sophie, but in  a much older, more demon-y package.

Neville Longbottom: It made me so sad to leave your off Neville. Know that you are first in my heart!

And last, but certainly not least Archer -Fire by Kristin Cashore: The womanizing bad boy with a knack for protecting Fire. *sigh*

Top Ten Tuesday: Girls We Love to Hate, Harry Potter Style!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish.

I think the ultimate Tell-Tale sign that you really, I mean really despise a character is when you cannot contain yourself and burst into cheers when the character finally gets what they deserve! Too many times during a Harry Potter novel have I embarrassed myself thoroughly by not being able to contain my cheers! Here is the Ultimate Top Ten List of Harry Potter girls that are so hate-worthy!

1. Bellatrix Lestrange
All I can say is "Molly Weasley is my Queen!!!"

2. Professor Umbridge
Who out there didn't cheer when the centaurs carried this horrible lady away?!?! Or not to mention "Give them Hell from us Peeves!!!"

3. Aunt Petunia
Definitely wins the worst mother of all time award!

4. Rita Skeeter
Evil lady with a newspaper column, bad combo!!!

5. Mrs. Norris (Filch's cat)
I still wonder if that was really a cat or an Animagus! Creepiest cat ever!!!

6. Lavender Brown
Who did't want to kill her when we heard the words, "Won Won"?!?!

7. Romilda Vane
I still indirectly hold her responsible for the almost death of Ron Weasley, so she definitely deserves a place on this list!

8. Pansy Parkinson
Because of Baby Sister Brittany's undying love for Draco, Pansy gets to be hated out of "girl rule" default!

9. Fleur Delacour
Beautiful, blonde, speaks French, has magical powers, marries a Weasley, there is absolutely nothing to like about her!

10. Nagini
Three cheers for Neville when he uses the sword of Gryffindor to cut off her head!!!

Thank you J.K. Rowling for all the wonderful characters plus the some of the most amazing words every put to the written page! This blog exists because of you!

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish.

So, it seems today is Top Ten Fictional crushes! What could be more fun! Who needs movie stars when you have YA lit?!?! Here's my top ten list! These are sort of in order, but they tend to switch places depending on my mood!

1. Jace Wayland (Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare) Ummm, yeah, who doesn't like their fictional boys angsty, secretive, tattooed, and protective. Give me Jace ANYDAY over anyone in Hollywood right now!

2. Ren (Nightshade by Andrea Cremer) Team Ren all the way!!! Though I did like Shay, in my eyes there is only Ren!

3. Archer (Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins) Oh Archer!!! There's so much too you that we don't know yet! I loved you in Hex Hall (oh my that cellar scene gets me everytime) and again in Demonglass. Though, I do have some questions about you! Can't wait to find the answers to my questions in HH3!

4. Peeta (Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins) Sweet, sweet Peeta! Who doesn't need a guy willing to die for you and face the wrath of the capital just to keep you safe!

5. Hale (Heist Society by Ally Carter) Hale is the ultimate sexy! He's a suave, cool thief! He's straight out of a dream!

6. Will (Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare) He's a mean boy with a secret past! Enough said!

7. Bennet (Haunting Emma Series by Lee Nichols) I just read this series! Bennet is your older brother's best friend that you've always had a crush on!!! How can anyone say no to that?!?!

8. Catcher (Forest of Hands and Teeth Trilogy) The broken boy who needs fixing, who is off limits because his blood could be dangerous! Yes, please!!!

9. Daniel (Fallen series by Lauren Kate) Lifetime after lifetime of trying to save the girl he loves, he's perfect!!!

10. Jules (Die for Me by Amy Plum) Boy oh boy, I cannot wait for more of Jules! With Paris as a backdrop, Jules is an immortal who spends eternity sacrificing himself in the place of other people. Parts of who Jules really is-is still a mystery but I'm guessing he's going to be amazing come Until I Die! Oh la la!!!

And the honorable mentions are Cassel from Curse Workers series by Holly Black, Jem from Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare, St. Claire from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, Gale from Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Lucas from Starcrossed by Josie Angelini and Will from Firelight by Sophie Jordan. Whew, that was hard to pick between all the amazing characters that are out there right now in YA lit. Hope you guys have as much fun reading this as I had making this list!
