THE WINNER OF MATCH #26 IS WILL!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to representing Dank today! I started reading about Dank about a year ago I would say, and well, let's face it. He's hot; he can sing and he's death. Yeah - Death - talk about bad ass.

Personality: He's pretty honest and upfront. For the most part, each character who has a run in with Dank knows where they stand with him. The only time he withholds anything is when it might effect/affect Pagan in some way. He writes music from his heart. Dank has a sarcastic side, that isn't abrasive, but just enough to tease Pagan. He takes his "work" seriously and after his love with Pagan, understands what he is doing more clearly, so he is willing to grow (how many guys really are?) 

Looks: Bluer than blue eyes. So blue that they have been referred to as gems. Look at the covers. Those babies pop. He also has black, not too long hair, that curls on the ends. A sultry smirk reserved only for Pagan and a dimple. Just one, sinisterly cute dimple. Smoking hot body. Did I mention his blue eyes? 

Talents: Besides easing people into their deaths? He serenades (and well, like soothingly and sensually) his girlfriend Pagan with a guitar and lullabies that he has written about how she has saved him. I mean, what girl doesn't want that? I do. 

Special Attributes/Best Qualities: One of my favorite qualities about him is his compassion. He can be a tough, I know that, but he can be so sweet and he doesn't have to be. For example, there was a little girl in EXISTENCE and he talked to the little girl and tried to make dying easier and made it a beautiful process. He didn't have to. His compassion extends farther than Pagan. Then there is that whole he is Death thing. Ya know - no biggie. Or the fact that he is a deity. 

Anything else? This year, with the help of my street team (WHO ARE AWESOME) and the great Abbi Glines, I have added some other reader's favorite qualities, moments, and quotes. 

One of my favorite quotes: “He's already proven he'll defy Heaven to keep her. If Hell wants a piece of him too, then bring it on.”  SWOON!

What are some of your favorite things about Dank? 

He holds the key to life or death in his hands yet he becomes as weak as a human when he falls for Pagan. There is something about watching a Deity act like a mortal because of love that gets to you. One of the reasons I love Greek Mythology. 

And why was he a fun character to write? Because he wasn't a man. He was something that every human fears but they know they will meet one day. Writing him with emotions and giving him a voice was almost comforting in a way. 

From the Greedy Booker - (and a quote I love) - “I’m not a man so I do not have a heart that loves as a human does. I’m an immortal god that dwells with supreme power because I hold the keys to Death. But you are my existence. I am yours.”- Existence

From Jorie Sus- Confronting Ghede with the Warriors threatening to destroy voodoo if he doesn't release Pagan's soul - (I have to say I loved this too. BAD ASS and it reminded me of how tough Dank is.)

Both his hands gripped my waist pulling me hard up against his body. "You tempt me. I can't be tempted. I'm not made to be tempted but you, Pagan Moore, you tempt me."

He has had a tragic childhood; he has punished himself by pushing away anyone who could possibly love him. He is self sacrificing almost to the point of masochism. His control and restraint for the betterment of others is unparalleled, placing him leagues beyond what most heroes are capable.

Will would do anything for Jem his parabatai; even give up his own happiness and dreams for Jem. Nearly selling his soul to help make Jem’s life a little easier, providing not only tangible palliatives but also those of friendship and loyalty. “Our souls are knit. We are one person, James.”

A true literature hero must win our hearts thru writ, and no one does it better than Will. He loves books as much as we do. The boy can whip out a quote from any number of classics to suit the moment or express his feelings - oh my.

“It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them.” I will be honest with you, Will. We flipping LOVE you more than words could express! If his wisecracks don't enamor you, watch out for his naked vulnerability, expressed to only one.

Will has mastered the art of killing Demons, while he does not have any supernatural abilities he knows how to fight his way out of the whole schmear. And while your donning 17th century grace, that's a tough act to beat. Chivalrous protection? Yes, please! Ah...but be warned, never will he oppress your dignity or honor. Once earned, you will maintain his loyalty and protection, unthreatened by disrespect or belittlement. His valiance is that of humility and earnestness to earn love, not for intimidation or domination. Will is also hilarious; his brand of sarcasm and dark wit will leave you rolling...or blushing.  Take for instance his opinion on ducks. “Remember when you tried to convince me to feed a poultry pie to the mallards in the park to see if you could breed a race of cannibal ducks?"

"They ate it too, Bloodthirsty little beasts. Never trust a duck.”

And there's always the less innocent remarks - "Do you think you can be trusted in Downworld? The gaming hells, the dens of magical vice, the women of loose morals..." Will smiled the way Lucifer might have smiled, moments before he fell from heaven. Finally, and perhaps one of the headiest arguments, because of Will we got Jace Wayland-Morgenstern-Lightwood-Herondale, another flawless character who you can’t help but fall in love with! You simply can't help falling deeply, madly and heinously fully in love with William Herondale - “What he needs now is to love and have that love returned.”

The Winner of Match #25 is Dimitri!

Hey there tourney voters! I'm Stacey from the Fantasy Book Addict. If you know me from twitter, then you already know I'm obsessed with most of these YA crushes. I have a VERY LONG list of fictional boyfriends and Daemon Black is right at the top which is why it makes total sense I should represent him! Now, let's get to the awesome that is Daemon. Not only am I going to tell you why you should vote for Daemon, I'm going to tell you why he should WIN the whole damn thing! Fact #1: Daemon Black is over-the-top SMEXY! My girl Katy describes him best in four sentences: "Beautiful face. Beautiful body. Horrible attitude. It was the holy trinity of hot boys." (Obsidian) Do you still need more? How about this description from Obsidian:

"Heavy footsteps came from the other side, and then the door was swinging open and I was staring at a very broad, tan, well-muscled chest. A naked chest. My gaze dropped and my breath sort of...stalled. Jeans hung low on his hips, revealing a thin line of dark hair that formed below his navel and disappeared under the band of the jeans." Or this: "My gaze finally traveling north again, I noted thick, sooty lashes fanning the tips of his high cheeks and hiding the color of his eyes as he looked down at me." Don't forget his: ".full, kissable lips." And this: "[eyes] so green and brilliant they couldn't be real." *wipes sweaty brow* Yeah, I'm pretty sure I made my point. Daemon is all types of yum.

Fact #2: His cocky persona only makes us love him more! Who doesn't like confidence? Well, Daemon oozes it. He knows he's hot, and worse, he knows Katy does too. But, he's always really playful about it which only makes us love him more. "You're such an ass. Has.anyone ever told you that?" He flashed a genuinely amused smile. "Oh, Kitten, every single day of my blessed life." (Obsidian) "You probably even dream about me." His gaze lowered to my mouth. I felt my lips part. "I bet you even write my name in your notebooks, over and over again, with a little heart drawn around it." (Obsidian) "He rolled his eyes. "You just like me for my body. Admit it." "Well, yeah..." His lashes lifted and his eyes glittered like jewels. "I feel like man-candy" (Opal)

Fact #3: He will do anything to protect his family and Katy! Daemon was totally rude when he first met Katy. Actually, he spends a good portion of Obsidian being a jerk to pretty much everyone. But, we find out later that he was trying to protect her. He knows he can put Katy in danger and he puts aside his own feelings to try to keep her safe. That, to me, is the definition of swoon-worthy. "This was wrong. Think of Dawson. Look at what happened to him. Did I want to take the same risk? Leave Dee all alone? But even now I could feel her skin, taste it--sweet and sugary like candy. Hear that wonderful sound she made over and over again, haunting every mile I put between us." (Obsidian - The Morning After) In Daemon's mind, it's his job to protect his family. Nothing else matters to him. Throughout the series, he sacrifices himself, and when things go wrong, he blames himself. The ultimate hero.

Fact #4: He's more vulnerable than he lets on! More than anything, I think Daemon just wants to live a normal life. It seems like Katy is the one person who can see who he really is. "A smile pulled at his lips as he looked away. "I had more fun that day than I can remember. I know it sounds stupid, but--'' "It's not stupid." My heart lurched. At once, I sort of understood him better. Underneath it all, I think he wanted to be normal." "And there was the real Daemon. Still a total badass, but there was pain in him, a vulnerability in the lines of his face that I doubted anyone ever got to see." (Obsidian)

Fact #5: He knows how to deliver a memorable kiss! I have two words for you people: Laptop Scene "There wasn't a moment of hesitation. His mouth was on mine, and I stopped breathing. He shuddered and there was a sound from the back of his throat, half growl, half moan. Little shivers of pleasure and panic shot through me as he deepened the kiss, parting my lips. I stopped thinking. I pushed off the wall, sealing the tiny space between us, pressing against him, digging my fingers into his hair. Daemon Black is the ultimate YA Crush! He deserves your VOTE!

Hello everyone! *Waves* Welcome to the 3rd Annual YA Crush Tourney! I am Chandra from Unabridged Bookshelf and I have the great honor of representing the esteemed Dimitri Belikov this year! If I seem familiar, you may have seen me here last year representing another fellow from the Vampire Academy and Bloodlines series by the incrediably talented Richelle Mead, Mr. Eddie Castile. I had a lot of fun last year, and could not be more excited to have the chance to be an advocate again let alone for the gorgeous guardian Dimitri.

Dimitri is the knight is shining armor girls have been dreaming about for years. He is protective, noble, always willing to put his life on the line for those he loves and those he has sworn to protect. He takes his duty as Guardian for the Moroi (good vampires) very seriously, especially after losing his first charge and his best friend to the Strigoi (bad vampires).Dimitri is a true gentleman and most defiantly crush worthy.

Dimitri is tall, dark, and dreamy all wrapped up in a Russian accent. Dimitri stands just over 6’7” with dark soulful eyes, and long dark hair and he is incredibly fit. Don’t believe me, why not find out what Ms. Rose Hathaway has to say about Dimitri’s looks.

English Accent! Rather that tell you all about Kai... Let's see what Anna Whitt has to say... "Good gracious, he was sexy - a word that had not existed in my personal vocabulary until that moment. This guy was sexy like it was his job or something." He is TT worthy..."He was smokin' hot. As in H-O-T-T hott. I'd never understood until that moment why girls insisted on adding the extra T. This guy was extra T worthy." You can get lost in his swoon-worthy eyes... "Gosh, his eyes were gorgeous - the color of tropical honeymoon waters ringed in dark sapphire and enclosed by thick lashes" He even makes fruit sexy! "That's a shame," he picked up a green pear from his plate and bit into it, licking juice that dripped down him thumb. My cheeks warmed as I set down my glass. "Okay now you're just being crude." I said. He grinned with lazy satisfaction. Now don't tell Pharzuph and the other Dukes I said this but... *Looks around and moves closer*

  Deep down Kaidan is really a sweetheart and uber Swoony!

 Yes Kaidan may be the epitome of snarky sexiness but deep down he is a sweetheart and he always puts the ones he loves before himself. In his own words... "Anna... the night of the summit, when you were saved, it was the only time in my life I've ever thanked God for anything."*SWOOOOONNNNN* NO matter what, he is swoon worthy and wants to be better... "Because all I could think about was you, Anna, and how good you are, and what you'd think of me. You put thoughts into my head that a Neph should never have." He makes every girl want freckles... "What do you want from me Kai?" "For starters?" His voice lowered to sexy, dangerous depths. "I want to introduce myself to every freckle on your body." 

DID I MENTION HE WAS THE SEXIEST NEPH AROUND?

His bedroom eyes... "Seriously" I whispered, unable to look away. "You're doing the bedroom-eyes thing again." He sleeps in the buff... "Dear God!" I screamed and buried my face in my pillow. "What?" The Winner of Match #21 is Daemon!

Hey there tourney voters! I'm Stacey from the Fantasy Book Addict. If you know me from twitter, then you already know I'm obsessed with most of these YA crushes. I have a VERY LONG list of fictional boyfriends and Daemon Black is right at the top which is why it makes total sense I should represent him! Now, let's get to the awesome that is Daemon. Not only am I going to tell you why you should vote for Daemon, I'm going to tell you why he should WIN the whole damn thing! Fact #1: Daemon Black is over-the-top SMEXY! My girl Katy describes him best in four sentences: "Beautiful face. Beautiful body. Horrible attitude. It was the holy trinity of hot boys." (Obsidian) Do you still need more? How about this description from Obsidian:

"Heavy footsteps came from the other side, and then the door was swinging open and I was staring at a very broad, tan, well-muscled chest. A naked chest. My gaze dropped and my breath sort of...stalled. Jeans hung low on his hips, revealing a thin line of dark hair that formed below his navel and disappeared under the band of the jeans." Or this: "My gaze finally traveling north again, I noted thick, sooty lashes fanning the tips of his high cheeks and hiding the color of his eyes as he looked down at me." Don't forget his: ".full, kissable lips." And this: "[eyes] so green and brilliant they couldn't be real." *wipes sweaty brow* Yeah, I'm pretty sure I made my point. Daemon is all types of yum.

Fact #2: His cocky persona only makes us love him more! Who doesn't like confidence? Well, Daemon oozes it. He knows he's hot, and worse, he knows Katy does too. But, he's always really playful about it which only makes us love him more. "You're such an ass. Has.anyone ever told you that?" He flashed a genuinely amused smile. "Oh, Kitten, every single day of my blessed life." (Obsidian) "You probably even dream about me." His gaze lowered to my mouth. I felt my lips part. "I bet you even write my name in your notebooks, over and over again, with a little heart drawn around it." (Obsidian) "He rolled his eyes. "You just like me for my body. Admit it." "Well, yeah..." His lashes lifted and his eyes glittered like jewels. "I feel like man-candy" (Opal)

Fact #3: He will do anything to protect his family and Katy! Daemon was totally rude when he first met Katy. Actually, he spends a good portion of Obsidian being a jerk to pretty much everyone. But, we find out later that he was trying to protect her. He knows he can put Katy in danger and he puts aside his own feelings to try to keep her safe. That, to me, is the definition of swoon-worthy. "This was wrong. Think of Dawson. Look at what happened to him. Did I want to take the same risk? Leave Dee all alone? But even now I could feel her skin, taste it--sweet and sugary like candy. Hear that wonderful sound she made over and over again, haunting every mile I put between us." (Obsidian - The Morning After) In Daemon's mind, it's his job to protect his family. Nothing else matters to him. Throughout the series, he sacrifices himself, and when things go wrong, he blames himself. The ultimate hero.

Fact #4: He's more vulnerable than he lets on! More than anything, I think Daemon just wants to live a normal life. It seems like Katy is the one person who can see who he really is. "A smile pulled at his lips as he looked away. "I had more fun that day than I can remember. I know it sounds stupid, but--'' "It's not stupid." My heart lurched. At once, I sort of understood him better. Underneath it all, I think he wanted to be normal." "And there was the real Daemon. Still a total badass, but there was pain in him, a vulnerability in the lines of his face that I doubted anyone ever got to see." (Obsidian)

Fact #5: He knows how to deliver a memorable kiss! I have two words for you people: Laptop Scene "There wasn't a moment of hesitation. His mouth was on mine, and I stopped breathing. He shuddered and there was a sound from the back of his throat, half growl, half moan. Little shivers of pleasure and panic shot through me as he deepened the kiss, parting my lips. I stopped thinking. I pushed off the wall, sealing the tiny space between us, pressing against him, digging my fingers into his hair. It was soft, silky―" If you want to read more, you'll have to read Obsidian. There's only so much hotness I can fit into one post. ;-p Okay, okay.I feel like I've made my point. Daemon Black is the ultimate YA Crush! He deserves your VOTE!

Noah S. from The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Hi everyone! I'm Sara from The Page Sage and I'm representing Noah Shaw from the amazing Mara Dyer series by Michelle Hodkin. There are no words to express how excited I am to be advocating a character from one of my favorite series. I can't wait to tell you all about Noah... So let's get started, shall we? 

Let’s talk looks.

Noah is gorgeous. He has messy, just-got-out-of-bed hair with a sexy five o’clock shadow. His clothes are constantly in disarray, in a way his tall, lean form can most definitely pull off. As for his smile, it’s one of those half-smirks, as if he’s hiding a secret. His eyes? A smoldering gray-blue.

But what about brains?

I mean, looks are nice, but intelligence is truly attractive. And Noah is smart. I’m not just basing that on his witty repartee- he’s also widely read. (I mean, come on: a BOOKISH hot guy. Excuse me while I swoon.)

British Accent.

He has one. Need I say more?

What else do you need to know about Noah Shaw?

1.) He saved a dying dog.

2.) He’s a tortured soul.

3.) He plays guitar.

4.) He’s the King of Sexual Innuendos.

“’Why do you always look like you just rolled out of bed?’

‘Because usually I have.’ And the way he raised his eyebrow at me made my blush.”

5.) He’s also terribly romantic.

“‘Mara, I have never felt about anyone the way I feel about you. And when you're ready for me to show you,’ he said, brushing my hair to the side, ‘I'm going to kiss you.’ His thumb grazed my ear and his hand curved around my neck. He leaned me backward and my eyes fluttered closed. I breathed in the scent of him as he leaned in and kissed the hollow under my ear. My pulse raced under his lips.
‘And I won't settle for anything less.’”

What more can you want in a Crush, right? He's drop-dead sexy with razor sharp intelligence, with a British accent and devious smile. BUT, in case I haven't convinced you yet, I wrote a song based on his relationship with Mara. (Which, admittedly, may not convince you at all, but I get points for effort, right?)

Mara was told she'd "love him to ruins." Now it's our turn to love Noah to victory!

Alex from Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

Hola, book lovers! I'm Rachel from Beauty and the Bookshelf, and I'm honored to be an advocate in the YA Crush Tourney this year! I know I'm biased, but I really, truly love my crush; he's one of my top book boyfriends! I hope you've got a fan ready to cool you down and 911 on speed dial, because you're about to meet...

Alex Fuentes

He's the lead male in Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles, and he's muy caliente. Alex is made up of several different aspects, and in the end he'll steal your heart and take your breath way. If you've already met Alex, then you probably know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, then you're about to find out. He's the boy your madre warned you about. But beware: the following text is highly flammable.

“This is Alejandro Fuentes. When he wasn't hanging out on street corners and harassing innocent people this summer, he toured the inside of jails around the city, if you know what I mean. His secret desire is to go to college and become a chemistry teacher.”

Cocky

Alex has his issues--he's in a gang, he's trying to keep his younger brothers out of the gang, his family doesn't have a whole lot of money--but he hides that. He does his best not to show weakness, so instead he emanates confidence like it's a cologne he's wearing. Sometimes it smells vial, and sometimes it smells mouth-watering, and that's when the good, light-hearted cockiness makes an appearance.

“Makin' mistakes ain't a crime, you know. What's the use of having a reputation if you can't ruin it every now and then?”

Heart

Family is a very big thing for Alex; they mean the world to him. And when the right girl comes around, she becomes part of that, too. A handful of people get a special place in Alex's heart, a place that means he'd do anything to protect them. He's not an overbearing bodyguard (most of the time)--he's protective in a way that makes your heart stop a beat then pick up at an extremely fast pace.

“I want to know how to make this girl laugh. I want to know what makes her cry. I want to know what it feels like to have her look at me as if I’m her knight in shinning armor.”

Espanol

Chico is a Mexicano, a Latino--and he's not afraid to show it. Alejandro Fuentes rolls an r off his tongue so smoothly, like a cat purring. Some of what he says is foul, but a lot of the time it's just another name to call Brittany, his love interest in Perfect Chemistry. Some guys call their girls "babe" and "sweetheart"--Alex'll call you "mi vida," "mujer," and "mamacita."

“Mi vida, if I kiss you, I guarantee there’s gonna be tongue.”

Mechanic

What is it about guys working on cars that's so hot? Alex spends a lot of his time in the garage and shop, working on cars and fixing things. Not to get all English-class on you, but working on cars could symbolize Alex's life and what's happening in it. There's also the fact that some, um, interesting things happen at the shop...

“We’re actors in our lives, pretendin’ to be who we want people to think we are.”

Indescribable

I may be describing Alex throughout this post, but there really isn't a true way to say or show who he is. (You just have to meet him yourself.) He's just Alejandro Fuentes, the boy everyone warns you about but your heart leaps for anyway.

“You are the one girl that made me risk everything for a future worth having.”

Sexy

I've only been saying this for, like, the entire post, but chico es muy caliente. Seriously, he is worthy of some major swoonage. It's not just the obvious sexiness--it's who he is, deep down, as a person. And it's also his smokin' hot looks. (Tattoos. I love tattoos.) He rides a motorcycle. (Holy hotness.) The things he says are pretty sexy, too. Oh, and what he does--woo! Excuse me, I need to go stand in front of a fan for a few days and cool myself down. Alex Fuentes is almost too hot to handle!

“He has eyes so expressive they give a hint to more than what he portrays. He’s dedicated to his friends, family, and even his motorcycle  He touched me as if I were made of glass. He kissed me as if he’d savor it for the rest of his life.” 

Trouble 

"I knew you were trouble when you walked in..." So, Alex isn't an angel. (But really, who is?) He makes some bad decisions and does some bad things. He has tattoos (not that I'm complaining) and is marked up with evidence that he's part of LB, Latino Blood, a gang you really, really don't want to mess with. Boy can handle a gun and take care of himself in a fight. He's trouble, all right. But trouble isn't always a bad thing.

“I'm not starting any fights. I might finish one though.”

Rebellious

To add to being trouble, Alex can be quite the rebel. (He's a Fuentes; I think it runs in their genes.) His mouth can run off and say not-so-nice things, and he also does some very not-so-nice things. He may use you, depending on who you are. Alex isn't always fond of rules, either. However, that rebelliousness has the potential to morph into something great.

“It's your image, what Alex Fuentes is all about. It's your brand, your logo...dangerous, deadly, hot and sexy Mexican.”

Yours

Once he finds the one, that girl that's his life, that's it. He's done. He's pretty darn committed and he's yours, and you're his. He'll say sweet things and do sweet things, all of which put butterflies in your stomach. (For reals, this book will put some major butterflies in your stomach.) Alex Fuentes will make you weak at the knees, and you can't help falling for him. And if he falls for you, then you are one very, very lucky girl. 

“Mujer, you own my soul.”

So that's Alex Fuentes: sugar, spice, and everything hot. He's the guy you hate to love and a delicious dose of danger that you need in your life.
