Alex.  Aiden.  Seth.  Their past is keeping them together; their present is holding them hostage; and their future is hanging precariously in the balance.  Oh my gods, Apollyon is the akasha of Covenant novels.
Darkness and danger have blanketed  Alex and Aiden’s world—a darkness that pulls at Alex from the inside out, and a danger that not even the gods saw coming.  As the shadows descend, everyone will have to make a choice—a choice to stand and fight or turn and run.  Allegiances will be frayed, powers will be harnessed, and love will be tested.
So we have come to that point in this series…you know the one.  The point where you’re scared to read how it all ends because you just don’t see how it can have a happy ending.  So I have this weight on my heart because this is truly one of my favorite series.  I feel like I know Aiden and Alex and Apollo and Marcus and everyone else on a personal level, and it pains me to know what darkness is coming in the fifth and final book.  But, I like that Jennifer has been able to make such an impression with this series.  I felt this way with Harry Potter, too, because I just knew the death toll was going to be high and my heart was going to break.  After reading Apollyon, I have high hopes for Sentinel—and I know it will leave a lasting impression.
Apollyon is much, much darker than the first three books.  I mean, if you’ve read Elixir, then you know the anger and the madness that plagues Alex.  SLIGHT SPOILER:  It’s brutal watching her lose herself and slowly wither away, but fear not!  For Fate has another plan, and she won’t succumb to the madness for long. END SLIGHT SPOILER  I liked the darkness in this book because it was truthful.  The world is at war, and in war, there are casualties.  I really dislike books where there is some type of war and everyone survives (Twilight, cough, cough), and so I was happy that Jennifer didn’t shy away from death.  Her sight was truthful, and though heart-breaking, it added to the tension and danger that was ever-present.
I’ve always liked Alex in the past books because she was such a smart mouth.  Her comebacks and witty jokes always had me cracking a smile, and I love that she can crack the Buffy-esque jokes when she is in danger.  It just gives her this spice that I think adds to the whole Apollyon bit.  Now, there were times when she annoyed me in this book because she got overshadowed by thinking everything was about her.  She was a bit selfish in her thinking that everyone was fighting to save her, not the millions of other lives at stake.  So for the first time in this series, I was actually bothered a bit by her, but still her strengths definitely outweighed the selfishness, and I still enjoy her more than most heroines.
And of course you want to know about Aiden, right?  Gosh, he is just the best!  He is my absolute favorite book boyfriend—strong and confident, jealous at just the right times, sexy as hell and not afraid to act on his feelings, and genuinely over-protective to a fault.  He’s perfect.  We get to see all these best parts of Aiden in this one, and lots of steamy scenes that will have you blushing and envious!  Hey Jennifer---I’m dying for some Aiden POV scenes…pretty, pretty please!  For Seth fans out there…unfortunately there isn’t much of him in this one.  That didn’t bother me, though, because I have an insane urge to kick him really hard where it really hurts.
What surprised me in this book was that my favorite part was APOLLO!  I don’t know how many times I laughed out loud at Apollo’s actions or words.  For example, at one point he calls Hermes a “punk ass bitch.”  I could just see the gods getting in petty fights where they call each other names and then get angry and start hurling balls of fire and what not—all because someone was acting like a little b***.  Plus, he always shows up at the most awkward of moments, and that just cracks me up even more.  It’s like he’s chilling out in Invisible Land and then right when he sees the most intimate or embarrassing of moments—Poof!  Hello Apollo.  Be prepared to laugh your butt off at this god!
Jennifer L. Armentrout is amazing.  Her words glide effortlessly from page to page, and you will feel as if you are catapulted right into the middle of the raging war.  Alex, Aiden, and Seth are about to find themselves in a stand-off.  There will be no more sitting around waiting to die or waiting to live.  The wait is over.  The end is here.  Worlds are about to collide.

Blog Tour: Wait For You by J. Lynn

WAIT FOR YOU
by J Lynn (aka Jennifer L. Armentrout)

Reviewed by: Baby Sister Brittany
The Sisters Say: Witty, Wonderful and we're 100% Wooed!

NOTE: This book is NOT YA. It is considered "New Adult" and is appropriate for readers over the age of 18.

From Goodreads:

Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

We sisters pledged our love and allegiance to JLA long ago. She is the master of writing swoon-worthy boys, and she's done it again with Cam in WAIT FOR YOU.

I think I like other romances and couples, and then I read a JLA-romance, and am like "Holy Crazypants Batman! What was I thinking? THIS is a romance!" WAIT FOR YOU made me flail and giggle like a schoolgirl in love.

And let's be honest.... I don't even flail and giggle over romance in real life... only for swoon-worthy fictional guys like Cam. :)The romance in this book is realistic. It moves at a believable pace, and will draw you in completely.

But this book has depth beyond the romance. First, there are the secondary characters. Avery's friends are hilarious and likable. They remind me of my own friends, which went a long way to helping me connect to Avery and her world. They also made the overall collegiate feeling very genuine.

And lastly, there is Avery. Her story is so tragic, and I applaud JLA for not shying away from difficult issues in this book. While this book does follow a rather cliche New Adult structure about a heroine with a broken past who needs to be "healed" through love, it feels fresh because JLA makes some bold choices, including a really interesting twist.

If you are a fan of New Adult books and want something with both angst and humor, you should definitely give this a shot! It hit both the New York Times and USA Today Bestseller Lists on its first week! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Buy it at Amazon.
Buy it at Barnes and Noble.

And because we're part of the blog tour, we have an extra special giveaway for you! Sexypants Cam has an awesome pet in this book, and we've got a bracelet to giveaway in its honor. :)

Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout Blog Tour & Giveaway

Opal (Lux, #3)

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

Fill in the blank fun with JLA:

1. I wouldn't care if Cora Carmack wrote an encyclopedia, I'd still buy it.
2. Before I sit down to write for a long stretch of time, I need coffee.
3. The character that's the easiest and/or most fun to write in the LUX series has been Katy.
4. The character that's the most difficult to write in the LUX series has been Daemon.
5. My favorite scene and/or chapter to write in OPAL was Chapter 33.

Sister's say: Out of this World (wink wink) and Heart Obliterating

What can I say that I haven't already said about Jennifer?  Probably nothing, but the girl has staying power.  She's a writing maniac, and I'm not quite sure who she made a deal with to produce this many amazing books in the short time she has been writing!  It honestly should make everyone speechless!  We are so not worthy!!!

OPal is yet another one in the win column for JLA.  I found it different from the last 2 novels in the Lux series, but not in a bad way.  OBSIDIAN and ONYX are full of angst and snarkiness that Daemon so easily exudes.  They are both about the journey that Katy and Daemon were taking toward each other.  However, Daemon and Katy are in a new place now.  They are together  for real and are trying to deal with the fallout that was ONYX.  Katy is suffereing from the choices she made and deep betrayal of Blake.  The relationships in OPAL are completely different.  In a way, Daemon and Dee have switched roles.  Now, Dee and Katy's relationship is the volatile one and at times it's painful to watch. It's hard to see anyone that is dear to you suffer pain, and Dee's pain leaks from pages.  I feel like this book was about everyone coming to terms with Katy now being a permanent part of their family.  With that comes some serious fireworks, you can imagine how Andrew and Ash feel about that, plus, to Dee, Katy is a constant reminder of what she lost.

Dawson is also back, but he's a different Dawson than the one we met in SHADOWS.  A lot of what we saw of him, was completely sucked out by what he endured at the hands of the DOD.  His only desire is to get Beth back.  He's constantly trying to get to her no matter the danger he puts himself in.  The desperation he feels to have her back gave me an eerie feeling the entire book like there was a great hammer hanging above my head just waiting to drop.

That feeling didn't come and go just with Dawson though.  Throughout most of the book, JLA treats us to a happy time in the lives of Dawson and Katy.  They spend time together, have fun and fall more in love.  There's some kissy scenes and more that had me in a puddle on the floor!  We see a new side of Daemon.  he's fun, spontaneous and very obviously in love with Katy.  So much good happens in their relationship that I was literally scared to turn every page.  My heart rate was high, and I was anxiously anticipating having my heart brutally ripped from my chest!
Needless to say, my forshadowing heart was spot on and that hammer fell and crushed me into a million different pieces!  It was so worth it though!  I read one part at the very end of OPAL so many times that I lost count! (those of you who have read this, know which part!) So, if you haven't read it yet, yes it is painful but without pain we never know true joy!  I have every faith in JLA and of course Deamon and Katy that everything will be okay!  The only truly, truly painful part is the wait for ORIGIN!

So all in all, OPAL was a wonderful time of watching Katy's and Daemon's love grow, and now the testing of that love is at hand! I can't wait to see what happens next!

I might as well just give up on life now and go sit at Jennifer L. Armentrout's feet to beg from scraps of her books!  EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING she writes just blowI moved so fast s me away!!!  I've had so many amazing things to say about her, that my words are exhausted!  There are literally no more words left to express how much I LOVE JLA'S books!  So, to have Elixir is my hands or more correctly in my kindle, I am giddy and overcome with excitement!  Let me tell you something else, it is UNPARALELLED to be inside Aiden's head!  I cannot wait for everyone to read this!  But in the meanwhile, I will give you a little teaser... (now which to choose...there are so many good ones)

------------------------------------------------------

"I moved so fast I startled her.  My hands shot through the bars, clasping the sides of her face.  My forehead pressed against the cold bars and my lips were on hers.  The kiss was hard and fast.  Angry.  Desperate.  She went still, unsure how to respond.  Several times in the past forty-eight hours it had been the only way to shut her up." (page 2)

------------------------------------------------------

"Shooting forward, I wrapped my arms around her, clamping her arms to her sides.  Using my weight, I brought her to the floor as carefully as I could, but she thrashed and struggled.  From behind her, I got my legs around her waist and locked them down over hers....

"No! No!" She screamed over and over, each word a punch straight to my heart. "No! No!"

Pressing my cheek again hers, I forced her head back.  "I'm sorry, Alex, I'm so sorry." (page 38)

Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex. Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.
Even if it means making war against the gods.

Sister's Say:  Clever, Captivating and Contagious

Cursed
Dying sucks--and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand. After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.
Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he’s a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she’s more than interested. There’s just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out. However, she’s willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And hell, she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't?
But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not've been an accident at all, she’s not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life. For real this time.

Are you ready for another kick-butt heroine, hunky boy, and action packed story from Jennifer L. Armentrout?  Well, here is another one!  JLA, once again, delivers her legendary snark, tension, and angst that accompanies all of her novels.

Ember has the touch of death.  Everything she touches withers and dies.  Teenage years are not fun anyway, but if you add in the fact that your touch brings death, then life just plain stinks.  Life doesn't get any better from there either. Ember is raising her much younger sister alone, since her father was killed in a car accident, and her mother has never been the same since.  Through it all though, Ember is strong.  She's amazing and still has an unbelievable capacity to love even after all life has thrown at her.  She is cut from the same stock as Katie and Alex.  Jennifer knows how to create heroines that readers love, cheer for, and dream about becoming!

JLA has already given us Aiden and Deamon and now meet, Hayden!  I think I will forever have a love of boys that end with N!  Hayden is protective, smoldering, and just pure sweetness!  There are some cabin scenes in there ladies, while he is training Ember, that will just make you melt into a big puddle of mushiness!  I must mention that he is lots of broken, and yes, he had me at broken.  He has a heartbreaking history and not to mention some crazy powers that when combined together lead to fireworks!  And of course, like all good heroines, Ember must step in to help him heal that brokenness.  And no one does broken boys and their girlfriends like JLA!

Cursed is also loaded with action, and it doesn't stop until the last page.  Between training to control Ember's powers, the other talented teens, and the evil forces at work you will not be left wanting for action.  The ending had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails until I read the last sentence!

I do have to mention, but only really quickly that some of my favorite YA books of all time are JLA's Covenant and Lux novels.  They are just some of the best books out there.  And, I do like them more than Cursed (for all those asking which I liked better), but JLA still delivers everything she does so well in this book also.  If you are tried and true fan of Jennifer, then you will not be disappointed!  I found myself saying several times through this novel, "This is why I love JLA so much!!!"  No one writes YA like she does!!!

Cursed has a great romance, and I would say that it's safe for the younger YA crowd.  Her other two series are definitely on the more mature side of YA, but parents looking for their younger teens are good to go with this one.  I would still of course always encourage parents to read these books first and decide for yourself what is appropriate for your teen.  Trust me though, you will like these books too!

Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout Blog Tour: Character Interview with Daemon and Dee!!!!!!

”Onyx

Hey everyone!  If you didn't already know, the YA Sisterhood is a HUGE fan of anything JLA!  She is practically our hero.  In fact, if it was possible to jump right into the middle of a book, I would have a hard time deciding whether I wanted to tour Hogwarts or meet Daemon.  She's that good!  So, if you have not read Obsidian and Onyx (and of course her Half-Blood series), then you MUST rush to the nearest bookstore or amazon.com and buy them right away!  Your life will be changed--in ways only a super hot alien can do!

Haven't read Obsidian yet?  Be sure to enter the Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post to win your own copy!

Now...for the good part! Today we get to interview Daemon and Dee, alien brother and sister.  Trust me on this one...this is an interview you don't want to miss!!!

*************************************************************************

Hey Daemon and Dee!  Thanks so much for agreeing to give the YA Sisterhood some inside info into the lives of the Luxen!  Before we get started, I baked some delicious chocolate chip cookies.  *Leans over, flirting shamelessly, and offers Daemon the cookie*  Want a bite Daemon?

Dee gags.
Daemon smiles slowly. “I’d love a bite. Thank you.”
*I nearly kill over at this point, but I manage to blush from my head to toes and smile...in my moment of floundering, I forget about the cookie!*

Well then, I know your fans are dying to get some insider gossip on each of you, so let’s get started!
First off, if you both didn’t have to live close to the rocks that protect you, where would you like to live?

Dee bounces in her seat. “I would love to live near the ocean—any ocean. Even the dirty oceans. Because you know, some oceans are just gross, but I wouldn’t care. I just want sand under my feet.”

“Uh…” Daemon gives his sister a weird look. “Anyway, I don’t see a point in thinking about living in a place I could never live in. Wishful thinking leads to whiny behavior.”

I don’t know about you both, but I have an mischievous streak in me, and I know if I had the abilities you do, I’d have fun with all sorts or pranks, or, um…I don’t know, small felonies (stealing extra fries from MacDonalds while everyone is frozen) !?!  If you could use your abilities for such a reason, what would you do?

Daemon chuckles. “Dawson and I used to move things around in restaurants and take things off plates.” *I laugh thinking about the hottie twins stealing things off my plate*
“And put things in people’s carts while at the grocery store.” Dee grins. “That’s always fun.”
“But freezing time leaves a trace behind,” Daemon says. “So our fun is limited.”

What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you both?

Dee groans. “Just about any time Daemon opens his mouth.”
“Nothing embarrasses me,” Daemon replies.

*Why is it so hot in here?  I feel like I'm standing next to the sun!*

What would you like to see Katy blog about?

“I think what she blogs about now is perfect—her love of books.” Dee nods. “She doesn’t need to change that.”
Daemon grins. “I think she needs to blog about how sexy I am.”
His sister rolls her eyes.

Dee, if you had to pick a guy from another series, who would you choose to date?

“Hmm… I’d have to go with Zachary from the Shade series. Katy tells me he wears a kilt. That’s hot.”
*Shakes head yes and manages to take my mind of Daemon for a moment*

Daemon, what sport do you think you would play the best?
“I think I’d be pretty good at anything. We’re faster and stronger than humans.”

*Thinks about him as an Olympic swimmer....hehehe*
And finally, we are going to mix it up a bit!  We have a list of this and that, but instead of answering about yourself, you get to answer for each other!

So, Dee….what would Daemon choose on the following?
ET or Alien? Aren’t they the same thing?
Truth or Dare? Dare.
Fight or Flight? Fight.
Trick or Treat? Treat.
 Sugar or Spice? Spice.
Puppy or Kitten? Kitten

And Daemon….what would Dee choose on the following?
Alien or human? Alien
Team Jacob or Team Edward? Probably Edward.
Good boy or bad boy? Good boy. She better.
Truth or Dare? Truth.
Vampires or Zombies? Vampires
Kiss or Cuddle? God, neither I hope.

Thanks so much for dropping by, and as always, I’m sure you both have even more fans after those great answers!  Oh…once more, Daemon, would you like a cookie???
“Thank you for having us!” Dee waves.
“I’m still waiting on that cookie.” Daemon leans forward. “Wanna share one?” *I literally almost fainted as I held up the cookie!*

*****************************************************************

YA Sisterhood

Hey everyone! My name is Stacey, and I'm the blogger behind the Fantasy Book Addict. This is my first time participating, and I'm so excited I get to represent Dimitri Belikov from the international bestselling series, Vampire Academy, by Richelle Mead. Before I begin, I'd like to thank all the supporters behind #TeamDimitri, and the YA Sisterhood for hosting this fun tourney! Now, let's get started!

Tell us about Dimitri?
Well, he's a twenty-four-year-old dhampir with a sexy Russian accent. He's about six-six or six-seven with dark brown eyes and shoulder-length brown hair that's usually tied back in a ponytail. He's one of the best and most respected of all the dhampirs. When we first meet him, he has six molnija tattoos onthe back of his neck because he has killed 6 strigoi. Rose actually says it better than I can here:
“He's a total badass. He's also pretty good-looking. Okay-more than good-looking. He's hot-like, the kind of hot that makes you stop walking on the street and get hit by traffic." Frostbite

What makes him stand out amongst the other competitors?
Unlike many guys on this list, his looks aren't the best part of him. He's hot for sure, but he's not a total jerk. He's a sexy, good guy. I'm gonna lean on Rose again to explain: "Yet, it had been Dimitri’s gentleness and thoughtfulness mixed with that deadliness that made him so wonderful. The same hands that wielded stakes with such precision would carefully brush the hair out of my face. The eyes that could astutely spot any danger in the area would regard me wonderingly and worshipfully, like I was the most beautiful and amazing woman in the world.” Blood Promise

What truly makes Dimitri the best crush on this list?
When everyone else thought Rose was a lost cause, he believed in her. He trained her and he took up for her. He was always pushing her to be her best. His support helped elevate her into the rockstar dhampir she eventually became. No matter what happened to Rose, he never lost faith in her. Not to mention, he thought her most attractive trait was her inner strength. Dimitri: "No, it won't happen to you. You're too strong. You will fight it, just like you did this time" Rose: "I only did it because you were here, I can't do it by myself" Dimitri: "You can, you're strong--you're so, so strong. It's why I love you." Shadow Kiss

Still not convinced of his hotness? Maybe this will seal the deal. <Holy Hotness Alert>
"Releasing my wrists, he moved his hands up my arms, sliding slowly along my skin. Holding me in his dark, hungry gaze, he pulled me into him, pressing me right up to his body. One of his hands moved up the back of my neck, twining his fingers in my hair and tipping my face up to his. He brought his lips down, barely brushing them against mine. Swallowing, I asked again, "Do you think I'm pretty?" He regarded me with utter seriousness, like he always did. "I think you're beautiful." "Beautiful?" "You are so beautiful, it hurts me sometimes." His lips moved to mine, gentle at first, and then hard and hungry. His kiss consumed me. His hands on my arms slid down, down my hips, down to the edge of my dress. He gathered up the fabric in his hands and began pushing it up my legs. I melted into that touch, into his kiss and the way it burned against my mouth. His hands kept sliding up and up, until he'd pulled the dress over my head and tossed it on the floor. "You...you got rid of that dress fast," I pointed out between heavy breaths. "I thought you liked it." "I do like it," he said. His breathing was as heavy as mine. "I loved it." And then he took me to the bed." Vampire Academy

Valerie here from StuckInBooks with my argument of why YOU should Vote for Daemon from the Lux series!!!

Spoilery if you haven't read Obsidian.

Daemon is one of the most POWERFUL of all the Lux.  Needless to say, when his emotions are....um shall we say engaged, things get a little explosive!

"His hands were on my hips, and he lifted me up as if I were made of air. My legs wrapped around his waist, and we moved to the right, knocking into a floor lamp. It toppled over, but I didn't spare it another thought. A light popped somewhere in the house. The TV turned on, then off, back on. Our lips remained sealed. It was like we couldn't get enough of each other. We were devouring one another, drowning in each other...There was a cracking sound in the house. A fissure of electricity shot through the room. Something smoked. But I didn't care....He hummed, brimming full of power.....He left after that, grabbing his shirt off the floor and sauntering out of my house.  The son of a bitch blew up my laptop." (Obsidian)

"Touching him, kissing him, was like having a fever all over again. I was on fire. My body burned. The world burned. Sparks flew. Against his mouth, I moaned. There was a POP! and CRACK! The smell of burned plastic filled the cubicle. We pulled apart, breathing heavily. Over his shoulder I saw thin strips of smoke wafting from the top of the ancient monitor. Good God, was this going to happen every time we kissed?" (Onyx)

Yeah, my boy, Daemon is something else!

Oh and don't forget about this....
