Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine. It spotlights books that have not yet been released, but ones that you should pre-order today! This week's book that we are anxiously awaiting is: Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore, Sequel to the amazing Graceling and Companion book to Fire.

Eight years after Graceling, Bitterblue is now queen of Monsea. But the influence of her father, a violent psychopath with mind-altering abilities, lives on. Her advisors, who have run things since Leck died, believe in a forward-thinking plan: Pardon all who committed terrible acts under Leck’s reign, and forget anything bad ever happened. But when Bitterblue begins sneaking outside the castle—disguised and alone—to walk the streets of her own city, she starts realizing that the kingdom has been under the thirty-five-year spell of a madman, and the only way to move forward is to revisit the past. Two thieves, who only steal what has already been stolen, change her life forever. They hold a key to the truth of Leck’s reign. And one of them, with an extreme skill called a Grace that he hasn’t yet identified, holds a key to her heart.

I am so excited to tell you guys that I have BITTERBLUE in my hands RIGHT NOW!!!! I read GRACELING way back when it first hit the shelves, and adored it. I then devoured FIRE and loved it EVEN MORE than GRACELING. And I have been waiting so long for Kristin Cashore's next book. This was supposed to come out ages ago, but then there was some craziness, and then it got cancelled, and then picked up again, and now it's time is almost here! It's being published May 1st, 2012 by Dial Books (Penguin Young Readers), and I was lucky enough to snag a copy at the ALA Midwinter conference this past weekend. I just finished re-reading GRACELING last night to mentally prepare myself, and Bitterblue is next on my list! Can't wait to tell you all how amazing it is!
