A hidden truth.
Mortal enemies.
Doomed love.
Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.
Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.
Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.
Firelight
is an entertaining, engaging read that will keep you up all night to finish it. This is book has it all! Dragons (actually Draki - descendants of dragons), fighting, HOTTT guys, and family drama. Sophie Jordan takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster through Jacinda, a rebel Draki who thinks she is above the rules of her pride.
I find myself relating with Jacinda because she does not like to be told what to do and who to marry. Since she is the only "fire breather" the pride has left, she is forced to be married to Cassian who will be the pride's future alpha. She is rebellious, even toward her own mother and twin sister, and she is fearless. But, what I like most about her character is she follows her heart.
Hot guys....oh my is this book filled with them!!!! You've got Cassian, the next in line for alpha who is pining after Jacinda. He is a fighter draki, so ladies....this guy is built!!! Personally, I don't see what Jacinda is complaining about having to marry him! :-) Seriously, sign me up! But, then there is Will. He is the draki hunter.....((((sigh)))) He's hot, he's damaged, he's dangerous, and he's completely off limits, so of course, I am completely in love with him!
The plot thickens when Jacinda's twin sister does not manifest into a draki and causes all sorts of family drama. Jealousy, sibling rivarlry, and deceit....all plays a part.
Adventure, deceit, danger, and passion all encompass this page-turner....read it...you'll love it too!!!

Summary by goodreads.com
To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.
Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?
In bestselling author Sophie Jordan’s dramatic follow-up to Firelight, forbidden love burns brighter than ever.
Let me start off by saying that normally I dread the second book in a series. After reading
Firelight
I could not wait to get my hands on
Vanish,
however, I was nervous that it would be a letdown after the adventure I took on the first book. Boy, was I wrong!!!! If possible, this book is even better than the first one! It has even more drama, more danger, more twists and turns, and (most importantly) more HOTTT boys!
From page one, the twists start. Jacinda, her sister, and her mother return to the pride to a not-so welcome greeting by everyone. Cassian (sigh) is one of a few people who has not shunned her and not only that but still wants to be with her! Again....sign me up! He's hot, he's strong, he's sexy, and yes....he's in love with Jacinda! I just wanted to hit her and say, "What is your problem!?!!?" But, again, that is what I like about Jacinda; she is so in love and so stubborn that nothing is going to deter her.
Jacinda's character continues to build as she is struggling to find her place back in with the pride. Being shunned by everyone except for Cassian is a lonely existence especially with her heart still with Will. More family drama unwraps and, this time, it's not just Jacinda's family having all the drama.
About the time, I have turned my allegaince and declared that I am "Team Cassian", Will comes back. I can hardly write his name without my heart skipping a beat. If possible, he got even sexier in the second book! So, I am proud to declare that I am still 100% "Team Will" (Although AmyG will disagree with me and pledge her allegiance to "Team Cassian") The love triangle in the this book pulls your heart in every direction; it is so hard to decide. After you read the book, please vote on our poll and see if you agree with me (Will) or AmyG (Cassian).
In summary, I would say this book is even better than the first, so if you like the first, you will LOVE this one.
Vanish
has even more drama, fighting, kissing, and danger. If you would like to read a couple quotes from this book, I did a
"Teaser Tuesday"
of it last week. Like I said last week.....Buy it, Read it, LOVE IT!
After reading Vanish, which Team are you now?

Team Cassian
